Flanagan Wines was born out of my love for wine. I visited wine-growing regions around the world from New Zealand to Greece. I was fascinated by how the changes in soils and climate created different styles of wine from the same grape variety. This led to an interest in vineyard sites and a focus on the soils and the climates that made each unique. In 1999 I purchased 40 acres on the heights of Bennett Mountain and Riley and I planted our first grapevine. In 2016 I purchased a great site just outside Healdsburg, redeveloped the vineyards, and moved our production to our new winery. I now produce wines from several of the most highly regarded vineyards in Sonoma County. Flanagan Wines is known for making great wines from the best vineyards in Sonoma County.
